File under “News You Didn’t See Coming”: Pop tart Kesha and velvety-piped chanteuse Adele are set to cover iconic singer-songwriter Bob Dylan on an upcoming tribute album.
As Rolling Stone (via ONTD) reports, the two singers are among those tapped to debut covers of well-loved Dylan classics on the upcoming charity release ‘Chimes of Freedom: Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International,’ with proceeds to benefit the titular organization. The compilation will also include songs from My Morning Jacket and Patti Smith.
Adele is set to contribute a cover of ‘Make You Feel My Love,’ which was included on her debut studio album, ’19.’ But Kesha is one of the more surprising artists involved in the project — and she says that her take on Dylan’s 1963 song ‘Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right’ was an emotional recording. “You can hear the snot running down my face,” Kesha says. It should be a welcome departure from her usual steez, since Kesha’s roots are actually in country music, and through the Auto-Tune, homegirl can actually belt alongside the best.
“When you think of me, you wouldn’t think of Bob Dylan,” Ke$ha tells Rolling Stone. “My music is more about going crazy than politics, but he’s a huge influence — he writes his own music and means what he says. I write my own music, and I f—-ing mean every word I sing.” Followers of Ke$ha’s sonic evolution know that many of her early demos showcased her vocals more than listeners heard on her debut, ‘Animal,’ or its follow-up, ‘Cannibal,’ so we’re excited to hear the cover.
And, of course, if Dr. Luke decides to remix the cover into a crunkalong dancefloor anthem, we’ll be stoked to hear that, too.
First, I’d like to just say… ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?
So I was looking for Bob Dylan pictures for my homework regarding the person I want to be like when I grow up and I stumbled upon this shit. KESHA??!! SERIOUSLY?? This is such a disgrace!

life:
It was fifty years ago today that Bob Dylan had his first recording session at Columbia Records. Dylan was backup harmonica for folk singer Caroline Hester — It was shortly after that Dylan was offered his own deal with Columbia.
